Hanging Shelves: Add Shelves Anywhere And Avoid Damaging Your Walls

Houses and offices of all kinds are limited in their storage capacity, though that capacity can be expanded. Some options are rather bland, and may not be viable for renters, such as adding traditional shelves, while other options are unique and make excellent use of spacial resources, such as hanging shelves. Despite their comparatively low price, limited permanent impact and excellent use of space, not everyone knows what hanging shelves are and even fewer use hanging shelves in their home and/or place of business.

In order to fully understand the advantages of hanging shelves, one needs to know exactly what hanging shelves are. There are two primary types of hanging shelves; the first is designed to hang from the backside of doors while the second is designed to be used in closets where clothing poles provide an easy mounting option. Hanging shelves that are designed to be mounted on the back side of closet (or other) doors, usually with the help of nothing more complex than a simple wide hook or series of hooks that are slim enough to encompass the entire top and part of the front of a door without causing an obstruction that will not allow a door to fully close.

The result is that the space immediately behind a door that often goes unused when the door is closed is now being put to good use. The second form of hanging shelves are designed to be hung in much the same way that clothes in a closet are: On a bar. These systems make excellent use of closet space, especially those closets that would normally be un-utilized or not used to their fullest capacity. In essence, this style of hanging shelf system is nothing more than a lightweight set of shelves that feature at least one standard clothing mount or a heavy duty mount compatible with closet clothing bars.

While those two types and styles of shelves are the primary options, there are other choices as well. There are too many unique systems to consider without writing a book, but the advantages are really simple, especially for renters. Hanging shelves are portable, and can be used in a new property and they do not require modification of a current property in any way, shape or form. This means that lease agreements that deny renters the freedom and right to install their own shelves on walls can be honored without sacrificing the utility that shelves provide.

Due to the fact that there are so many different hanging shelving systems on the market, it is only possible to state that one can pay as little as $20 or as much as $115 or so for a new set of hanging shelves. The size and quality of the hanging shelves will have a major impact on the price one is expected to pay.
